Women of COS

Every woman at Christ Our Savior can participate in the activities of Women Servicing Christ Our Savior.  We are involved in service activities in our community, fun activities such as dinner and theater, retreats, desserts, and a cookie walk at which we raise money to sponsor a family for Christmas. There is a quilting group that makes quilts for Lutheran World Relief.  Women can participate in one or all of the activities.

One example of our outreach – the members of the Ladies Group at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church (COS) constructed 100 dresses made from pillow cases for “Little Dresses for Africa”.  “Little Dresses for Africa” is a non-profit Christian organization founded by Rachel O’Neil in 2008.  The mission is to distribute dresses to little girls in Africa and other countries that are in need.  This is to help the girls feel they are worthy and to know the love of Jesus through the distribution of dresses along with bible studies, etc.  From this project came the request for the little boys to be included somehow.  So the “Little Britches” for boys came into being.  These were simple shorts, made in various sizes and fabrics, that were sent along with the dresses to the boys.  Our goal at COS was to send 100 pairs of  “Britches”.
